I'm frustrated beyond belief. This is the second resource pack I've created, and I can't get it to appear in game.
This is what I did:
Downloaded a resource pack for v1.12 and at 256x resolution, and used it as a template to create the correct folder structure.
Spent uncounted hours in Gimp creating static and animated textures. All are 256x and saved as .png files. Animated textures each have the appropriate .mcmeta files. All files are in the correct subfolders in my pack.
Created a pack.mcmeta file, specifying format 3 (for v1.12). Double checked the syntax and ensured that "fancy quotes" were off.
Selected the assets folder, the pack.mcmeta file, and my pack.png file and compressed them using Mac's Archive Utility. It has no options to create a "zip folder." It creates an "archive."
Renamed the Archive.zip to the description I specified in my pack.mcmeta file (256x Nyx v1.12) and dragged it into ~Library/Application Support/minecraft/resourcepacks/.
It doesn't appear in the in game list of resource packs. When I select it in Finder, it doesn't show the contents of the archive,
My questions:
Could someone who's familiar with the Mac version please explain the step-by-step method for getting my resource pack to appear in game?
Does anyone know why my Minecraft is suddenly being slow and weird? Should I back up the whole thing and start with a fresh minecraft.jar?
I should add that I've already searched these and other forums, as well as googling. There are tons of tutorials for Windows, but the only Mac ones refer to older version that include a bin folder, and please let me know if I should add any information.
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
